Proximity marketing using Bluetooth technology is an ideal communication
tool to connect with potential customers. Information is sent wirelessly
to mobile devices within a specific radius (usually within 100 metres
of the broadcast pod), in order for messages to be accepted mobile
devices need to be Bluetooth enabled and have Bluetooth mode switched
on.
Bluetooth marketing works particularly well in areas which have
high footfall such as shopping centres, night clubs and exhibitions.
Messages are free to send and free to receive and provide an ideal
means for businesses to pro-actively market to consumers to drive
footfall instore or simply broadcast information. Accepted messages
can then be forwarded by the receiver expanding upon the initial
marketing footprint through viral marketing campaigns.
